Tom Bird is 14 and he came on one of our group intensive courses at the Centre.
During 2005 he decided to make a big effort to raise money for us and he has been amazingly successful! He wrote letters to local schools telling them about the difficulties his stammer had caused and how the Centre had helped him. Headteachers and teachers were so impressed by this that four of them agreed to hold `no uniform` days to raise money.
Tom and his mother also made personal appeals to lots of local shops and companies, and seven of these made donations towards the Centre.
Tom has so far raised the fantastic total of £2,005.30 for the Centre and is promising to do even more. We are really impressed with his fundraising skills – congratulations and thanks from us all!
